Healthy Weight Maintenance
- Revisited!
Â
The updated practitioner masterclass on weight, hormones, metabolism, AND GLP-1s
We first recorded this masterclass in January 2023.
Since then, the conversation around weight maintenance has shifted dramatically.
GLP-1 medications have changed the landscape. The public conversation around obesity has become louder, more polarised, and, in many cases, less useful. Practitioners are now working with clients who are more confused than ever: trying to navigate blood sugar issues, menopausal weight gain, metabolic dysfunction, stress, inflammation, gut symptoms, and the pressure of simplistic health messaging that still somehow refuses to die.
Because despite everything we now know, many people are still being offered the same tired advice:
Â
Eat less. Move more. Try harder.
And when that doesn’t work, the assumption is often that the client is the problem.
This masterclass is here to challenge that.
Â
Healthy Weight Maintenance – Revisited! is an updated training for practitioners who want a more nuanced, clinically relevant understanding of what really influences weight balance, and how to support clients in a way that is realistic, informed, and fit for the current landscape.
Â
This is for you if…
You work with health, nutrition, hormones or functional wellness and want to better understand:
-
why weight gain is rarely as simple as calories alone
-
how stress, hormones, insulin, inflammation and food quality interact
-
why some clients seem to “do everything right” and still struggle
-
what to consider when working with menopausal clients
-
how to think about fasting, ketosis, protein and carbohydrate intake more effectively
-
how GLP-1s are changing practice, and what nutrition practitioners need to know
This session is especially relevant for practitioners supporting clients who feel stuck, confused or frustrated with their weight, particularly when symptom patterns suggest there is much more going on beneath the surface.
 Why we updated this masterclass?
Â
When we first recorded this lesson in 2023, the foundations mattered, and they still do. But practice has moved on.
The rise of GLP-1s alone has created a new layer of complexity for practitioners. Questions around appetite, muscle mass, nutritional sufficiency, long-term maintenance, metabolic health, and practitioner scope are no longer theoretical. They are here now, in clinic conversations, in client concerns, and in the wider health space.
At the same time, many of the old myths around weight remain firmly in place.
So this updated masterclass revisits the fundamentals, questions outdated assumptions, and brings the topic into the reality of current practice.

There is no shortage of content on weight loss and weight management.
The problem is that much of it is either too simplistic to be useful, too reductionist to reflect real client cases, or too ideological to help practitioners think clearly.
This masterclass takes a more grounded approach.
Rather than forcing weight into a single explanation, we look at it through the wider lens of:
-
hormones
-
metabolism
-
stress physiology
-
food quality
-
symptom patterns
-
life stage
-
individual context
Because in practice, weight is rarely just about weight.
A note on GLP-1s
It is impossible to revisit this subject without addressing GLP-1 medications.
These drugs have changed the conversation fast, but not always well.
Depending on who you ask, GLP-1s are either a miracle or a disaster. Usually the truth is less theatrical and more clinically inconvenient than that.
Clients are arriving with questions, assumptions, fears, unrealistic expectations, or very real success stories. Some are already using GLP-1s. Some are considering them. Some want to come off them. Some are losing weight while quietly becoming undernourished, depleted, or disconnected from the wider picture of metabolic health.
As practitioners, we need to know how to think well here.
This session includes an updated look at what we know so far, and how nutrition practitioners can support clients using GLP-1s responsibly and appropriately.
 You’ll leave with…
By the end of this masterclass, you’ll have a clearer understanding of:
-
the main drivers that can contribute to weight gain and weight resistance
-
why conventional advice often misses the mark
-
how to think more critically about hormones, insulin, stress and food strategy
-
the role of menopause in changing weight patterns
-
how to approach fasting, ketosis, macronutrients and exercise more thoughtfully
-
what to consider when supporting clients using GLP-1 medications
-
how to bring more clarity and nuance into your work with weight-related cases

Healthy weight maintenance is not just about shrinking the body
It is about understanding the body.
It is about recognising when weight is acting as a clue rather than a standalone problem.
And it is about helping clients move away from blame, confusion, and oversimplified advice, toward a more intelligent, sustainable way of working with their health.
That is what this masterclass is designed to support.
